IIM Amritsar is the 15th Indian Institute of Management being set up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development with the support of Government of Punjab. IIM Amritsar is being set up under the direction and mentorship of IIM Kozhikode, the 5th oldest IIM and one of the premier management institutes in the country. The first program being offered by IIM Amritsar is the Post Graduate Program in Management and it conceives to provide world class management education to meet the requirements of enterprises across sectors by producing highly skilled management professionals. With its collaborative arrangements with Business Schools across the nation, a supporting pool of visiting and adjunct faculty from top B-Schools such as IIM Kozhikode, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIFT Delhi, MDI Gurgaon, XLRI Jamshedpur etc have taught students at IIM Amritsar. IIM Amritsar has ad­opted the same pedagogy of IIM Kozhikode which involves intensive case studies, absorbing field work, role-plays and continuous corporate interaction workshops. Within a span of one year only, the institute has consolidated its position in the league of premiere B- Schools by making a rapid stride towards its vision of building top class management professionals and has succeeded in carving a niche for itself among the well-positioned management in the country.
