The mission of the Square Foot Gardening Foundation is to help end world hunger. By utilizing small parcels of land with simple soil management techniques, both land and water requirements are minimized. These techniques also require less time and effort than traditional gardening methods, in part due to enhanced weed management and simple spacing practices. For decades, this Square Foot Gardening method has taken hold in backyards, community gardens and in developing countries, and continues to make positive strides in helping to reduce carbon footprints and ease world hunger.
