North Carolina Film Office

www.filmnc.com

As part of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, the North Carolina Film Office promotes North Carolina as a location for television, motion pictures and advertising productions – helping facilitate the creation of more than 900 films, 25 television series and numerous documentaries and commercials for more than 35 years. North Carolina offers a rebate of up to 25% on productions' direct in-state spending, including wages and compensation for above and below the line employees as well as residents and non-residents, as well as the purchase and/or rental of goods/services from North Carolina vendors. The rebate is funded through the North Carolina Film and Entertainment Grant, which as of July 1, 2017 had $34 million available. What’s more, an additional $31 million already has been designated for the 2018-2019 fiscal year, beginning July 1, 2018. This funding will recur annually and there is no sunset date, demonstrating North Carolina’s long-term commitment to the film and entertainment industry. An ambitious rebate package combined with experienced crews and great infrastructure are why there’s always one more reason to shoot in North Carolina.
