At Medicus of Houston, we specialize in advanced instruction in electrocardiography and complex dysrhythmia analysis. At this time, our classes are limited to a maximum of ten participants. We are best known for the amount of individual attention and participation we provide our clients. We began as a local company serving first Houston, then Texas and now all of North America. However, it wasn't long before we began receiving clients traveling from as far away as Australia and Saudi Arabia. Our signature course is the Advanced ECG Interpretation Boot Camp taught here in Houston, Texas. We begin with the nodal and non-nodal action potentials to better understand how electrolyte disorders and certain medications can alter the ECG and why we use other medications to improve the situation. Our clients then learn how to apply vector theory to the 12-lead ECG which better enables them to understand why certain changes take place and how to seek more confirmatory evidence for a diagnosis. We concentrate on the recognition of very subtle myocardial infarctions and how to differentiate all the infarction mimics. Participants learn about complex dysrhythmias by becoming proficient at using laddergrams. We are the only company to provide both a class and a workbook on laddergrams. Our students become more proficient and comfortable at differentiating the different types of wide and narrow complex tachycardias.
