ARL Designs develops high performance, low-cost superhydrophobic surfaces for applications ranging from green energy to medical devices. By tailoring the surface chemistry and topography, our surfaces exhibit self-cleaning abilities along with other desired properties including abrasion resistance, optical transparency, anti-reflectivity, tunable permeability, and precise droplet control. Products: Nano-Droplet Array Plate (nDAP) System enables the culturing and analysis of high-density arrays of cells immobilized within a 3D hydrogel environment. Individual cells, cell agglomerates, proteins, and rare analytes can be studied because of the excellent spatial and temporal resolution. The format is compatible with both high resolution fluorescence microscopy and MALDI-TOF. Cells can be studied over time and retrieved for external analysis. The low-cost nDAPs are compatible with standard 96 or 384 well microplates or can be configured at 1 mm pitch allowing much higher densities. DropRbot, the system’s automated transfer robot, uses a proprietary dispensing tip to transfer solutions from the source well to the nDAP. Because the geometry of the nDAP surface determines the volume of solution dispensed, low cost robotics can be used to achieve high precision dispensing with CV as low as 2%. KleanBoost Coating for Glass is a optically clear superhydrophobic surface that is both anti-reflective and anti-soiling. Anti-reflectivity has been demonstrated over an angle range that is more extensive than competing technologies. This transparent coating has demonstrated remarkable anti-soiling behavior, requiring only small amounts of rain to clean away dust and restore the initial transparency even after repeated cleaning cycles. Abrasion-Resistant Surfaces start with commercially available films, cloth or pre-vulcanized rubber and produces durable, superhydrophobic surfaces without other changes to the base material.
