The Institute’s mission is to train young people to be leaders of a more just, equitable and sustainable world. Since its founding in 1997 on Martha’s Vineyard, we have empowered thousands of young people with our educational tools; customized youth & community leadership initiatives including Career Mentor & Job Shadow Day programs and Sustainability Summits. The Stone Soup EdTech Platform is a comprehensive library of dynamic educational tools for teachers to educate their students using our books, videos and curricula, Stone Soup for a Sustainable World: Life-Changing Stories of Young Heroes. We incorporate best practices and sustainability innovations from 38 countries. It is aligned with U.N. Sustainable Development Goals; NGIS and state standards that fulfill state mandates. The Institute’s Stone Soup Model builds bridges and maximizes public-private partnerships with business, government, and educational institutions to train the next generation of youth to create a sustainable economy. SustainWDN™ is an online platform that builds a regionally focused sustainable workforce development pipeline by fostering connections with blue and green companies and guides multicultural youth to sustainable career pathways. The Institute is seeking strategic partners to scale our prototype nationally and globally. Sustainable Career Mentor Initiative is a disruptive model designed to fast-track this emerging industry.
