GO Investment Partners
www.goinvestmentpartners.comGO Investment Partners LLP (trading as Governance For Owners in Japan) is a UK partnership established in 2004. We specialise in Japan. Our products include: o Through our joint venture with Tokio Marine Asset Management, we manage the TMAM-GO Japan Engagement Fund (JEF) strategy. JEF is a constructive engagement fund that invests in small and mid-cap Japanese equities. The JEF's investment objective is to generate superior, long-term returns by investing in publicly listed companies that have strong core businesses and potential for growth. We work with management and the board to create shareholder value. We believe that companies with actively involved share owners perform better over the long-term. We also believe that, in Japan, a constructive and culturally acceptable “Japanese way” of engaging is much more effective over the long-term than a more aggressive, short-term approach. The final portfolio is long-only and highly concentrated, consisting of ten to fifteen high conviction stocks. As at 31st August, 2018, JEF's strategy had AUM in excess of $736 million. Our annualised net returns since inception are 22.7%, a 7.2% annualised relative outperformance against our benchmark (the Topix Mid 400 TR index). o GO Japan Stewardship Services (JSS) engages with the boards and management of clients’ portfolio companies on issues that enhance shareholder value including ESG matters. The JSS also provides independent, bespoke advice to clients on how to vote at company meetings and fiduciary proxy voting. o GO Japan Engagement Consortium (JEC) is an investors’ forum for clients committed to active share ownership in Japan. Together with our clients, we identify a number of companies not attracting the correct value in the market. GO then engages with these companies to improve share price performance. As these companies are owned by our clients, their portfolios benefit from the share price appreciation. GO is regulated by the UK’s FCA and the SEC in the US. Our Japanese subsidiary is regulated by Japan’s FSA.
