Elitour Greek Health Tourism Council’s main scope is the sustainable growth of Medical Tourism segment in Greece, promoting high-end healthcare services in collaboration with experienced operators and tourism enterprises. The Elitour Greek Health Tourism Council’s (www.elitour.org) has been established in 2013 as an initiative of Hospital Groups as well as companies from the sectors of Health, Transport, Tourism, Insurance and Advertising. It is the first successful collective effort aiming to introduce and integrate Greece in the international healthcare tourism map as a premier destination. Since its establishment, ELITOUR, through its cooperation with similar international organizations, commissions, European agencies and local authorities, has undertaken a number of important initiatives for the development of its strategic objectives aiming to interconnect the Greek healthcare providers and to penetrate the international target markets. With strategically designed and steady steps, ELITOUR has faced all challenges related to the lack of institutional framework, and today, in cooperation with relevant institutional bodies, it actively helps in shaping the legal and macroeconomic environments in order to accelerate the development of the rapidly growing market of Health Tourism in Greece. In addition, ELITOUR cultivates and develops cooperation networks between Tourism, Transport and Hotel Industries, in a joint formed frame. ELITOUR's power stems from the union of dynamic private enterprises in a common business framework / context, aiming to take advantage of the enormous business opportunity that the development of medical tourism offers to our country. Attracting dynamic new members broadens our base and leads us closer to the establishment of the ELITOUR as THE Institutional partner of the State and as the sole representative for Medical Tourism in Greece.
