Ruggeri Prosecco di Valdobbiadene

www.ruggeri.it

Ruggeri was founded in 1950, in the Heart of Prosecco. Today the winery represents the highest quality of the entire Prosecco Superiore DOCG production zone. Ruggeri was one of the first Valdobbiadene wineries to produce sparkling wine following the Charmat - Martinotti method and has always used for its sparkling wines the grapes grown in the "Golden Triangle", a splendid hilly area bounded by the hamlets of Santo Stefano, San Pietro di Barbozza and Saccol. The close link with this territory is so strong and significant that it has been adopted as a symbol of the winery itself. The triangle used in the logo represents the ancient and indissoluble link between Ruggeri and the most highly-prized and famous area in the entire Prosecco region. Throughout its history and through intuition that was ahead of the time, Ruggeri has made choices that have been ‘firsts’ within the Prosecco production area. It was the first Prosecco winery to obtain the recognition of “Migliori bollicine italiane del Gambero Rosso” (2017) and, after 10 “Tre bicchieri del Gambero Rosso”, the prestigious "Star" in the Vini d'Italia guide (2019). Driven by an innate pioneering spirit, Ruggeri was the first winery to produce a Prosecco Superiore from a selection of old vines (over 90 years old) and a Prosecco Superiore aged in tanks for 48 months before bottling. Ruggeri is also one of the few wineries to offer vertical tastings of its best Prosecco wines. The Collaboration with nature is another point in which Ruggeri strongly believes. Since 2019 the winery has joined the Integrated Crop Management National Quality System (SQNPI), for a better sustainable vineyard care. The SQNPI Protocol is recognised at European level and aims to use agronomic methods that reduce the use of chemicals, energy and water in the vineyard management.
