Bavs (Berwickshire Association for Voluntary Service) is an independent voluntary organisation, established in 1971, to support, inform, represent and provide services to community and voluntary groups in the Berwickshire District Area of the Scottish Borders. Bavs’ main aims are to initiate assessment of the community needs; to promote the development of new organisations and projects; to provide information, advice and administrative back-up; to assist organisations to collaborate with each other and with statutory authorities; to open up channels of communication and enable participation from the public in local affairs.
