www.botanybayfhs.org.auWe have a research centre and library premises in Caringbah, with extensive resources of books, microfiche, and computers with access to FindMyPast, Ancestry World Edition, The Genealogist, Internet History Resources and the British Newspaper Archives. We are also an affiliate Library for FamilySearch, permitting access to those digitised records otherwise only available at an FH Centre. Ours is an active, friendly society of almost 400 members. We publish a quarterly journal, The Endeavour, twice winner of the Nick Vine Hall Award. We hold two meetings per month for members and guests. The first includes a guest speaker and the secnd meeting consists of a theme to assist members with their research. We have nine Special Interest Groups available to members and visitors who meet regularly for mutual support, updates and help: DNA, Australian, English, Scottish, Irish, Writers, Reunion for Mac, Family Tree Maker and Legacy and a Groups.io forum for online discussion. Botany Bay Connections is our Genealogy & Historical database website at http://www.bbfhsconnections.com.au/ . This is a project where you will find the names of many people from Australia and around the world with a connection to the Sutherland Shire with constant additions being made to the database. Beginner classes are held each year and special interest talks from time to time. We hold an annual Heritage Fair. Our Members Interest Directory is available on our website as is our Library Catalogue.
