After many years of volunteering after-hours, I eventually decided to formalise the volunteer work I had been doing and started my own company iChange Consulting. As a socially minded South African with a background in Finance and an MBA, I realised quickly that my passion and strength was to work in the developing sector involving myself any and all projects that have an impact on the greater good, bringing a business understanding and savvy to the table. As a consultant in this arena, the jobs have varied significantly. I have worked as a Regional Shelter Coordinator with the Red Cross after Hurricane Katrina, ran a campaign office for Barack Obama during his elections, I managed the Government Shelters here in South Africa post the Xenophobia in 2008 and many other field level projects. CSI is a big part of the South African community and I have worked with corporates and small businesses to correct and perfect the projects they support as part of their social initiatives. As my personality likes change, I am fortunate in the work I do to have the opportunity to work with and hopefully impact a wealth of programs and organisations that need to find focus and better achieve their goals.
