Stepping Stones Counselling and Psychotherapy Limited is a privately run company offering reduced fee Counselling, Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, EFT, Hypnotherapy, CBT and EMDR to clients across the UK. Specialising in working with 999 personnel, the service was founded by Rebekah Golds-Jones in 2017, who is an experienced Psychotherapist, Trauma Therapist, Clinical Supervisor and Certified EMDR Therapist with 28 years experience of working in NHS mental health and learning disability services. From 2019, Rebekah has substantially expanded the service to now include approaching 20 additional qualified Counsellors and Psychotherapists in order to expand the specialist work provided. Interventions now include a wider range of trauma therapy, hypnotherapy, REWIND, trauma therapy, CBT, and Systemic Psychotherapy, as well as therapeutic groups. In addition Stepping Stones has become a training placement for student therapists. At the beginning of 2020, Stepping Stones additionally expanded into offering a full range of Online Counselling, following Rebekah's completion of the ACTO approved OCST Diploma in Online Counselling. Online sessions are offered via safe and secure email, IM and video call sessions and are based upon the firm footing of this highly recognised qualification; using only fully encrypted, secure platforms. As the CoVid-19 pandemic developed, Rebekah further supported all of her team to move clients to online therapy sessions, additionally adding RemoteEMDR to her own portfolio to ensure EMDR clients were able to continue their vital treatment sessions whilst we remain on lock down. Later in 2020, Stepping Stones became a limited company, with Rebekah becoming the Managing Director and Consultant Psychotherapist. She is joined by her husband, Gareth, who is a serving Paramedic and holds the role of Non-Executive Director at Stepping Stones.
