MEDITERRANEAN SOS Network is a Greek environmental and social NGO, active since 1990. We campaign for the protection of the natural and cultural heritage and the promotion of sustainable development in the Mediterranean Sea region, whilst encouraging the dialogue between communities. We aim to: -Raise public awareness and encourage positive changes in citizens', especially youth, everyday behaviour -Advocate, lobby and promote cooperation among social partners, stakeholders and policy-makers -Promote active public participation in sustainable development strategies and demonstrate alternative solutions in local communities -Promote intercultural exchanges and balanced international cooperation among European - Mediterranean partners Our main projects are activities focus around issues of: -Water Resources -Marine environment & coastal zones -Natural protected areas, local communities, urban environment -Energy and Climate Change -Euro Med cooperation -Civil Society and Intercultural Dialogue -International NGO Networking
