საქართველოს პარლამენტის საბიუჯეტო ოფისი წარმოადგენს დამოუკიდებელ ფისკალურ ინსტიტუციას, რომლის უმთავრესი მიზანია აღმასრულებელი ხელისუფლების ფისკალური პოლიტიკის დამოუკიდებელი და მიუკერძოებელი ანალიზით, კვლევითა და შეფასებით ხელი შეუწყოს საჯარო ფინანსების მართვაზე საპარლამენტო ზედამხედველობის გაძლიერებას და შესაბამისად, საჯარო ფინანსების ჯანსაღ, გამჭვირვალე მართვასა და ფისკალურ მდგრადობას საშუალო/გრძელვადიანი პერიოდისათვის. ზემოაღნიშნული მანდატი, ისევე როგორც 2008-2009 წწ. ეკონომიკური და ფინანსური კრიზისის შემდგომ საერთაშორისო საზოგადოებაში აღნიშნული ინსტიტუციებისადმი არსებითად მზარდი ინტერესი მიუთითებს საბიუჯეტო ოფისის უნიკალურ როლზე ფისკალურ არქიტექტურაში, რაც თავის მხრივ, განსაკუთრებულ პასუხისმგებლობას ქმნის მისი საქმიანობის ხარისხის სრულყოფის მიმართულებით. The Budget Office of the Parliament of Georgia is an independent fiscal institution, with the mandate to provide independent and impartial analysis, research and assessment of government's fiscal policies, plans and performance. contributing to the parliamentary oversight over the budget processes and thus promoting financially sustainable and economically sound fiscal policies. The above mentioned mandate, along with the growing international interest towards the independent fiscal institutions, particularly since the financial crisis of 2008-2009, clearly points to the unique role of the Parliamentary Budget Office in fiscal architecture, thus creating special responsibilities towards the quality of its work.
