The Foundation was incorporated as a Virginia non-profit, non-stock corporation on October 23, 2012. As of August 2013, the FITSI Foundation has received recognition of its tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The Foundation relies upon donations from the public to help fund its initiatives. These donations are fully tax-deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Service code. The Foundation’s first philanthropic initiative is to support the Wounded Warrior Cyber Combat Academy (W2CCA).
