The aims of the Academy are to provide a professional development resource to entrants and practitioners within the discipline, to establish an industry-wide framework of accreditation, and to maintain and continuously improve standards. Membership of the Academy is open to people who can demonstrate proficiency and experience in healthcare planning supported by case studies. The Academy runs regular seminars on healthcare planning topics for members and bi-monthly events with guest speakers open to all. The Academy’s development plan envisages forming partnerships with academic institutions and initial discussions are underway.
