The Orchestra Italiana del Cinema (OIC) is the first Italian symphonic ensemble dedicated to the interpretation and performance of film music. Orchestra Italiana del Cinema is formed by young talents and seasoned professional musicians from the best Italian orchestras. The Orchestra was born at Forum Studios, the historical recording studio founded in the late 1960s by the four worldwide renowned masters Ennio Morricone, Piero Piccioni, Armando Trovajoli, and Luis Bacalov. The mission of this ambitious project is to promote and perform the extraordinary original soundtrack heritage of the greatest movies ever: researching, recovering, and restoring film music masterworks’ scores, through the support of Associations, Foundations, private and public Libraries; performing the newest masterpieces brought to us by the newest living talents. In the years, Orchestra Italiana del Cinema was supported by prestigious Italian institutions as the President of the Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the Ministry of Economic Development, Federico Fellini Foundation, Cinecittà Luce, and Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
