Beyond the Bell is a Collective Impact initiative that engages with all sectors of our community to improve educational outcomes for children and young people living in Victoria's Great South Coast region. Beyond the Bell is a community led response to indicators that suggest young people in the Great South Coast region are completing year 12 or equivalent at lower rates than their metropolitan counterparts. Beyond the Bell's vision is for all children and young people to be connected to education and engaged in their learning. Beyond the Bell views educational attainment as a continuum from birth to young adulthood; this approach necessitates innovation at every stage to ensure that children and young people in Southwest Victoria can flourish. The Great South Coast region comprises six municipalities; the Shire of Colac Otway, Corangamite, Glenelg, Moyne, Southern Grampians and Warrnambool City. Initiatives are tailored to specific community requirements. This approach ensures that local solutions are offered and implemented for local challenges. The Beyond the Bell Great South Coast Board provides governance and oversight.
