Norm Yip Visual Art Studio
www.normyip.comOver the past few years, the importance of photography has become increasingly important and a necessary part of our society. Although this is the case, photography has moved in 2 divergent directions, where one is of the instantaneous image where the shot is uploaded within seconds of it's creation, and the other where the images is laboured and worked over to the point of no recognition to the original. My photography work is derived from the approach of aesthetics and truthfulness combined. My work relies primarily on the all important eye, for capturing the essence of the subject, whether it be an interior or a person's portrait and body. The photography must be able to stand on it's own with as little glossing over to carry the message. My work interiors is extremely well received by my clients, using ambient and natural lighting for the majority of the photography, which ultimately should be the case, as real people occupy and live in the spaces. The way I photograph people and portraits are natural. I have the ability to find angles and lighting that works for each individual's features. Meanwhile, the retouching that normally follows is equally as natural as possible, depending on the purpose of the shoot.
