Considered as one of the 29 Digital Innovation Hubs launched by the European Commission (under the I4MS initiative), the CIDIHub aims at becoming the cornerstone of digital innovation in the Canary Islands by connecting technology providers with entrepreneurs, SMEs and mid-caps; strengthening their competitiveness and opening up new business areas in the context of digitalization and Industry 4.0. Through the development of activities and the provision of services in the form of technological and consultancy support, training, research and testing, entrepreneurship assistance, etc., the CIDIHub is focused mainly on some concrete sectors/domains: - Industry 4.0 (including digital manufacturing) - ICT and Audio-visual and Creative Industries (including digital art and design) - Tourism - Blue Economy - Public Administration At a national level, the CIDIHub is aligned with the “Industry Connected 4.0”, launched by the Economy, Industry and Competitiveness Ministry. This Spanish initiative has three main objectives, which are, the increase in added value and employment in the Spanish industrial sector, the development of local offers for digital solutions, and the development of competitive and differential leverage in order to favor the Spanish industry and push exports. At a regional level, the CIDIHub is linked to the Operational Programme 2014-2020 that pursues to contribute to the EU strategy for a smart, sustainable and integrator growth and the achievement of economic, social and territorial cohesion. The CIDIHub is also fully in line with the regional Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS3).
