Our mission is to build community centers in Senegal to empower women and girls, expand access to education, and foster opportunity by providing resources and promoting the exchange of culture and ideas. We leverage our unique story and abilities to deliver high quality educational resources to rural Senegal. In 2020, the Lambaye Learning Center, a state of the art library-community center, opened in Lambaye, Senegal. This 4,000 sq ft project provides computers, internet access, books, as well as job training resources aim at women and girls and numerous other resources to a rural town about 100 miles outside of the capital, Dakar. Also in 2020, we received a grant from the U.S. State Department to implement the Lambaye Innovation Challenge. This year long program enrolled 200 students who had to identify a problem in their community and then engineer a solution. Students learned skills in robotics, computer programming, solar power, engineering, designs and arts. See their projects on www.studentsforsenegal.org/lic.
