Welcome to UNC Political Science! Political Science graduates from UNC make up an impressive career network. Our graduate program, currently ranked 11th among U.S. graduate programs in Political Science, is small and very selective; each year’s entering cohort is approximately 15 students. We admit students for the Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science; we welcome applicants with a bachelor’s degree, as well as applicants who already hold master’s or professional degrees. At the graduate level, we count some of the nation’s most promising scholars among our students. Many have already begun to make their marks on the field through their research and publishing endeavors. Our graduate students have extraordinary records of accomplishment and promise. Training at UNC is comparable to that at the nation’s top PhD programs and we are proud to bring your attention to these students entering the academic job market.
