Space Brains is dedicated to discuss what’s good and what’s great in science fiction films through the Space Brains Podcast and Space Brains SciFi Film Festival. Space Brains is a fortnightly podcast that discusses what is good and what is great about science fiction movies. Hosts Surrey Hughes and Mark Regan love science fiction films and aim to share that love with the audience. This is not a show that dishes dirt or talks to a negative point. ‘Science-brain’ Surrey, is a published author and IT professional. ‘Cinema-brain’ Mark, is a filmmaker and media teacher. Together they share the science and cinematic elements of each movie they review. The inaugural Space Brains SciFi Film Festival, an international science fiction film festival, will take place during May 2022 in the beautiful coastal town of Mandurah, Western Australia. The Space Brains SciFi Film Festival is a competition for independent science fiction filmmakers to highlight their films and talents. The festival draws particular focus on the work of regional Western Australian filmmakers to help give them a platform to speak about their projects.
