We do studies in anti malaria drug trial, Malaria in pregnancy, Entomology, Immunology, Pharmacokinetics, Insecticide resistance and Novel RDTs. Our HIV research work has significantly contributed to shaping the implementation of HIV treatment for children, pregnant women and adults in Uganda and Sub-Saharan Africa by providing information to enhance evidence based national policy on HIV treatment. IDRC Tuberculosis studies have generated new scientific knowledge on disease determinants, diagnostics and surveillance approaches focusing on TB. We conduct impact evaluation and immunization program evaluation. We have trained over 65 Ugandan Scientists (PhDs, masters, non-degree long-term training). We have also trained over 1000 health workers in integrated management of malaria and over 500 laboratory personnel in diagnosis of malaria.
