Al-Markaz, the Arabic Language Centre, was established in Singapore on 15th February 2005. It was set up with the intention of providing an avenue for anyone to learn the Arabic language and appreciate its beauty. It was the love for the Arabic language and the desire to share the beauty of being able to understand the language that lead to the birth of Al-Markaz. Why Al-Markaz? Al-Markaz in Arabic means The Centre, and that is the vision we have for Al-Markaz; to be the centre which everyone comes to experience, learn and develop their love for the Arabic language. Our Services We have a range of courses which cater to the different needs of learning the language. We also provide translation and interpretation services from Arabic to English and vice-versa. In addition, we also organise study trips to the Middle East where students are able to immerse themselves in the language and put to practice what they have learnt. Our Location Situated in Bussorah Street, we are right in the heart of the Arabic enclave of Singapore. The Kampong Glam area has always been the district synonymous with the Arabic community in Singapore.
