The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority has four main areas of responsibility: Monetary - We issue the Cayman Islands currency, manage the currency reserves and ensure that banknotes are genuine. Regulatory – We regulate and supervise the financial services industry. We ensure that all rules against money laundering are met. We issue a regulatory handbook on policies and procedures and rules and statements of principle and guidance. Cooperative – We cooperate with other overseas regulatory authorities and make agreements facilitating supervision across borders, across the globe. Advisory – We advise the Government on all the matters above.
