The Freakin Incan offers the freshest of foods and flavors that are unique to Peru. From a quick and light, lunch menu to hearty dinner offerings. Seafood ceviches, bursting with citrus flavors, wonderful warming soups, appetizers that will transport your taste buds to Peru, to hearty fried steak, chicken and fish; we've got you covered. Mikiel Arnold, owner and operator of The Freakin Incan, was born in Truijillo, Peru, to a Peruvian mother and American father. As a young boy, he remembers helping his grandmother in the kitchen, and falling in love with cooking and cuisine. By the age of six, his family made the move to the United States, looking for more opportunity. Annual visits were made back to Peru to visit family and to enjoy foods and cuisine that was just not available in the US. By 2007, Mikiel knew he wanted a career in culinary arts, and enrolled in culinary school. Part of his requirements to graduate culinary school was to complete an externship of his choice. For Mikiel, this was an easy decision. His externship lead to a three-month long culinary journey in Peru, eventually finding his place in Lima, at Astrid y Gaston, working for Chef Gaston Acurio. Regardless of his career path, chef Arnold knew he had a vision and wanted to get his food out to the masses in an affordable way. This want and need was eventually filled by the opening of The Freakin Incan food truck/trailer. The Peruvian themed food truck business proved to be profitable. The untraditional layers of flavors proved to be a popular amongst locals. Dishes like the empanada de lomo saltado as well as the alfajor confections were a huge success. The quick growth and excitement behind The Freakin Incan quickly lead to a brick-and-mortar store. By 2015 The Freakin Incan brick-and-mortar store was opened in the Alabama Road strip mall in Roswell. The Freakin Incan Roswell expanded into its current location at 4651 Woodstock Rd beside the Movie Tavern.
