Swannanoa Fire & Rescue provides structure fire protection, wildland fire supression, quick response to medical emergencies (emergency medicine) in partnership with Buncombe County EMS, technical rescue, dive rescue, swift water rescue, and wilderness search and rescue to the citizens of the Swannanoa area of Buncombe County, NC (District 6). We operate out of two stations with 7 apparatus, 2 quick response rescues, and 2 chief cars. Our response area includes residential neighborhoods, an interstate highway (I-40), a college, wildland extending to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and a river. Use is a mix of residential, industrial, and agricultural.
