Ayon is a non-governmental, not for-profit voluntary organization established in January 1986. The goal of the organization is to empower the rural disadvantaged people towards their self-reliance. Initially the organization was established with a view to provide health and family welfare services, through Community Based Distribution (CBD) approach. But gradually the organization has expanded its activities by undertaking other development programs including gender, legal aid support to the disadvantaged groups of poor people, and water and sanitation program. Ayon is registered with NGO Affair's Bureau (1991), Social Welfare Department (1991) and Family Planning Directorate (1995).
