Israel Cancer Research Fund | Toronto
www.icrf.caSince 1975, American and Canadian medical researchers, oncologists, and lay people have been fighting for cancer cures and therapies by harnessing the knowledge, educational resources and scientific research of Israel’s best and brightest scientists. The ground-breaking scientific research funded by ICRF is helping to save the lives of cancer patients in Toronto, North America and throughout the world. In addition to ICRF’s many achievements and the medical breakthroughs by ICRF-supported scientists, the organization now has operating chapters in six cities in three countries – the United States, Canada and Israel — with its international headquarters in New York City, plus active Boards of Directors for each chapter, an International Board of Trustees, an International Scientific Council, a Scientific Review Panel and a Scientific Advisory Board. Even more, two ICRF-supported scientists (Professors Avram Hershko and Aaron Ciechanover of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology) received the 2004 Nobel Prize in chemistry. These are medical breakthroughs that the founders of ICRF dreamed about in 1975 and continue to reinforce the value of the work we support. This was an extraordinary achievement for our scientists, for ICRF and for the State of Israel by any measure.
