BACHELOR IN AUDIOLOGY & SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY (BASLP): Keeping in line with the policy and objectives of the State Government in the promotion of higher education in medical and technology sectors and to create employment opportunities for the growing number of youth, the State Government, after carefully examining the proposal of the IIRS, has accorded “RECOGNITION” vide letter No.: 16091 dt.: 31.07.2008 to the BACHELOR IN AUDIOLOGY & SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY (BASLP) . These degree programs are affiliated to Utkal University, vide Notification No.: 27801 dt. 21.07.2008. In addition, Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi, Govt. of India, has approved for conducting the course by our Institute since 2007-08 vide letter NO.: 4109 dt. 21.06. 2007. BACHELOR IN AUDIOLOGY & SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY (BASLP) Audiologists specialize in the prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation of hearing and balance disorders. They use a variety of testing devices and methodologies to measure an individual’s hearing sensitivity and balance function. • Speech-language pathologists assess, treat, and help to prevent speech, language cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders. • Recent studies estimate Audiology among the top 10 ‘growth’ professions. US News and World Report recently ranked Audiology as one of the Top 25 careers. ELIGIBILITY: Students who have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics /Computer Sciences / Statistics / Electronics / Psychology. DURATION:The course shall be for a duration of four academic years including 1 year of internship which will be undertaken after passing University examinations at various reputed clinics and hospitals located all over the country with whom IIRS has entered into long-term arrangements.
