UNICURL is a family owned business in Sweden. In the late 1970′s, the Founder of Unicurl, Carl-Åke Ahlqvist, developed Carpet Curling. As the name suggests it is really Curling on a carpet. Since the start the game has spread to different target groups and is today enjoyed by children, adults and seniors around the world. The game is easy to learn and everyone can play. You dont have to physically strong which makes it an ideal activity for the elderly and also people with different types of disabilities. How does it work? The curling stones glide on the carpet and there is no brushing needed. Can you play in teams? Yes, you can play individually or in teams up to 4 people at the same time. Do I need special equipment to play? No not really except for a carpet and the curling stones. Wear your favourite shoes and just get going. Can you mix genders? Yes! Thats what makes this game even more fun. I’m a girl/woman and the boys/men are so much stronger than me. They will just use their power to get rid of my stones. Can I really win? Oh yes, the rules are made in a way that technique and team work are more essential than force and strength. And if they dio use to much force they will be punished due to the rules.
