Sarasota K-9 Search & Rescue (SSAR) is a group of highly trained, highly motivated volunteers and K9s dedicated to finding the missing and lost. We assist local, state and national first responders with professional, well-organized, well trained K9 and handler teams to ensure the safest and most positive outcome to each and every mission. We are a 501© (3) non-profit, non–government organization based in beautiful Sarasota County, Florida. Founded in 1996, the team has earned the respect and recognition from the state of Florida and many Emergency Service, Fire Rescue and Law Enforcement agencies. Sarasota K-9 Search & Rescue is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can assist public safety agencies responding for: missing/lost children, walk-away elderly persons, missing despondent persons, human remains detection, evidence searches or any incident where a coordinated search using air scent, tracking/trailing or cadaver dogs are needed. Our K-9 teams can adapt to a variety of environments including searches in residential, commercial, disaster, wilderness and water scenes.
