www.au-ca.orgThe African University of Creative Arts (AUCA) is a new private higher institutions focused on the teaching and research in creativity and innovation. It will be the heart of an African Silicon Valley and a new creative district where disruptive innovation and technology meets art and entertainment. AUCA will be scalable and our vision is to have campuses spread across Africa. Africa is rich in opportunities. It is home to seven out of ten of the world’s fastest growing economies, with Nigeria as its largest economy. With 70% of its almost 1.1 billion population under 35 (60% of the population is between the ages of 0 to 24), Africa will enjoy an extraordinary demographic dividend as their energy and talents drive economic growth and development. By 2050, Africa will provide 1 in 4 of the world’s workers; twice as many as China. In a recent report released by the USAID its research indicated that the social and private rates of return for tertiary investments in Sub-Saharan Africa are among the highest in the world. Using data from 545 households in 131 economies from 1970-2011, it indicated that tertiary returns were highest in Sub-Saharan Africa at 21.9, against a world average of 16.8%.
