Saltare in Elementis Dance Collective
www.saltareinelementisdancecollective.comSaltare in Elementis Dance Collective (SIEDC), was formed during an undergraduate study abroad trip in 2018. Co-founded by Zoe Couloumbis, Fiona O’Brien, and Sebrena Williamson, the collective was originally created to present work in South Korea. However, after experiencing systematic burn out and abuse within the dance world, SIEDC became much more. In 2020, the founders decided to make it their mission to create a positive, safe, and exploratory environment for dancers, collaborators, and audiences. Essentially, SIEDC creates dynamic narrative works that can be readily understood by multiple audiences. To ensure this, SIEDC works are created with a codified research-based choreographic theory that uses inter-art collaboration, written narrative, objective study, music composition and dance theater. From our dancers, to our collaborators, to our audiences, we believe that art is a community service– a safe place where dancers and audiences can partake in complex dialogues that address social conditions, universal topics, time, and place.
