I Am Character Youth Foundation
www.iacyf.orgOur mission is to establish a scalable model for providing young boys with recurrent exposure to fun and interactive learning experiences that include computer programming, website design, 3D game animation, app design, coding with robots & drones, and a variety of other STEM activities. In addition, there is an explicit and simultaneous focus on strengthening students' innate leadership, determination, and problem-solving skills while building their self-confidence. We provide a strong core mentoring program for young men of all cultures and backgrounds, including at-risk children experiencing academic and behavior challenges due to family-related and social-economic issues. Our Foundation believes the greatest impact for growth and success starts when boys are young. Our principles are built upon a firm foundation of education, leadership, and character. Our focus is to help develop the gifts within each child we work with, build their self-confidence, and provide consistent support so that our mentees are positioned to lead successful and productive lives. Our program adheres to a four-step approach: STEP 1 - Increase the student's general awareness of STEM education and careers. STEP 2 - Motivate students to pursue the education necessary to participate in those careers. STEP 3 - Provide students with technology-rich experiences that develop the skills needed for pursuing advanced STEM education and entering the STEM workforce. STEP 4 - Partner with individuals, corporations, and organizations who will support and advance our mission of exposing young males to technology and STEM opportunities. We are continually looking to connect with community partners, donors, and prospective mentors. To learn more about our program and ways you can support our mission, please visit IACYF.org.
