Sprout Words was developed to enhance, embrace and adapt to the new generation of learners within Australian schools. Technology has become an integral part of the educational setting and our goal is to engage students with an interactive, gamified sight word app that will utilise visual and interactive components that outdate any regular textbook. Sprout Words believes that technology can provide many specific benefits when used in the classroom including: • Keeping students engaged for a longer period of time • Creating an exciting learning experience • Differentiating learning to suit individual needs • Enabling students to learn at their own pace and; • preparing them for the future. Sprout Words offers an app that will provide support for students with diverse abilities and needs, cultural backgrounds, and learning styles. In particular our Sprout Words app will offer inclusive learning technologies that will contain key supportive features to help students work around or compensate for their difficulties including an Dyslexic setting, with an ESL and hearing impaired setting to be estabalished in future upgrades. The app will have a program that is being further developed, to assist teachers monitor students’ progression by collecting data (tracking student progress) on each student within their designated class, informing educators on which level that student is on, what words they got correct or incorrect, when they last logged on and if that student is struggling with the comprehension of a particular word. This data will also be available to the principle who can access all classes and witness their progression and/or struggles
