The Résidence Wales Home is a private, not-for-profit, government-designated English-speaking retirement home situated in the Eastern Townships. Services offered primarily in English, the Wales Home provides a continuum of care for up to 190 seniors who range from being completely independent to those requiring specialized care, including micro-milieus for seniors afflicted with dementia. The Wales accomplishes its mission of keeping seniors autonomous for as long as possible through a dedicated team of 175 skilled employees, over 200 passionate volunteers, and several professional partners. The Wales Home is recognized by the Minister of Health as the first seniors’ residence in Quebec and has emerged into the public eye with great prestige. Since 2011, the Wales has received fifteen awards, including an International Gold Certification for Excellence in Person-Centered Care from Planetree International.
