Non-profit public institution, “Development agency for Upper Gorenjska” -RAGOR was established on the basis of equal partnership by municipalities Bohinj, Jesenice, Kranjska Gora, Radovljica and Žirovnica, in the year 2000. Along with two other sub regional development agencies, RAGOR is part of Gorenjska Regional Development Agency. The region is placed in one of the NUTS 2: SI02 - Western Slovenia NUTS 3: 09 – Gorenjska. RAGOR organizes its work and has responsibilities in the field of human resources, SME’s, tourism, and rural, spatial, environmental and infrastructure development. Mission of RAGOR is to coordinate and foster overall development of the Upper Gorenjska sub region. Since its establishment, RAGOR implemented more than 70 projects, financed by the European and national resources. Upper Gorenjska is an area of 1.171 square kilometres, consists of seven municipalities and has approximately 66.300 inhabitants. It is located in the NW part of Slovenia, borders to Austria and Italy. Gorenjska is statistical region (NUTS 3) of app. 2000 km2 and 200.000 inhabitants. RAGOR realizes its mission through the following general activities: a) Organising training for various target groups, b) Developing and implementing new programs, tools and services for SME’s support, c) Proposing and implementing general development projects, d) Taking part in international projects, e) Coordination of Zgornja Gorenjska cooperation on municipal level, f) Participating in regional development programme development and implementation, g) Organizing various events. RAGOR organizes it’s work and responsibilities around the following program areas: - Human resources, - Development of small business, - Development of tourism - Rural Development - Spatial, environmental and infrastructure development - Inter municipal cooperation Though we are active in several spheres, our main focus is SME’s support and promotion.
