TPOM - Tennessee Prison Outreach Ministry
www.tnprisonministry.orgThe Tennessee Prison Outreach Ministry is a collaborative effort of over 500 volunteers and numerous contributors determined to address incarceration in this state. With one out of 99 adults behind bars, this ministry seeks to help rehabilitate the offender through Christian worship, faith-based classes such as substance-abuse and anger management and also through mentoring. The ministry supports aftercare for the released offender which includes the operation of two Christian-based halfway houses and benevolence assistance such as food and clothing. The ministry hosts an annual summer camp, providing full-scholarships to the children of the incarcerated and other at-risk youth. This holistic ministry has been in existence for over 50 years. Today, this ministry, which began in Nashville, is expanding across the state, seeking to network churches and individuals in this societal crisis. The ministry is actively recruiting volunteers and supporters, and provides training to all of those with a heart for a ministry that seeks to reach the marginalized of our communities. Our mission continues to be to share the love and truth of Jesus by bringing freedom and hope to prisoners and their families. We are a 501c3 non-profit, public charity and all contributions are tax-deductible.
