One Chance Illinois
www.onechanceillinois.orgOne Chance Illinois (OCI), is a 501c3 public charity, dedicated to advancing public policy that expands quality educational options for Illinois children in need. One Chance Illinois is based on a simple notion: every child has just one chance to get a great K-12 education. When it comes to a child’s education, there are no do-overs. We seek to change the education policy conversation. Today, too many public, charter, and independent school sector leaders argue about which type of school is best able to serve children. Instead, parents must be empowered to choose the best school for their child. Let’s be clear — we do not favor one school type over another. We instead support access to great schools and educational opportunities. Period. Most importantly, we believe in always putting children first. Not only because it is the right thing to do, but also because Illinois’ ability to give students the education system they deserve will determine the condition this state’s social, political, and economic future. We need Illinoisans to join us and demand access to better schools and educational opportunities for all students across the state, no matter their zip code or income.
