You may be wondering ‘What IS Amity Health?’ Well, we are many things to many different people but if we could break it down for you, it might look something like this: We are a not-for-profit organisation offering programs and services to help adults, children and families living in the Great Southern, Wheatbelt and coastal Goldfields regions. So what are the SERVICES we offer? We can help you if you or your child need to see a Diabetes Educator, a Dietitian, an Occupational Therapist, a Speech Pathologist, Mental Health clinician, Registered Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or Art Therapist. We call these services ‘Allied Health’ which put simply means, medical services other than doctors and dentists. There is a cost for these services and anyone can access them. A referral is not always needed from your GP. In addition to these services, we have a long list of visiting specialists who are based at our Albany clinic, ranging from Podiatrists, Audiologists, Dermatologists and Caridiologists - just to name a few! As for the PROGRAMS that we run at Amity Health, we are fortunate to receive government funding which allows us to offer: • Funded HEALTH Programs in the areas of Mental Health Care, Chronic Disease Care and Aboriginal Health. You will need a referral for these health programs so we suggest you speak with your Doctor or Health Practitioner to discuss your eligibility. • Funded COMMUNITY Programs – such as our Healthy Country Kids playgroup in Merredin, our Narrogin Kids Hub and our Communities for Children program in the Great Southern. You may like to follow us on Facebook or visit our website where you can find out even more about what we do and how we can help you, your family and your community.
