TAI-Vidarbha established in the year 1949, has grown both in size & strength. The activities of the unit have become diversified with all categories of textile mills, power looms, handlooms and apparel manufacturing units located in and around Nagpur. The phenomenal growth achieved by the Tai-Vidarbha over the years resulted into it receiving the 'Best Unit Award' (Small Unit Category) at national level consecutively for three years in 1999, 2000, 2001. The unit has earlier organized two unit level conferences in year 2002, 2004 & two national conferences in year 1979 & 2006 as well as one international conference in 2015 which were highly appreciated by textile technologists and industrialists from all across India.
