They are trained to identify the tiniest details that can affect a valuation and are familiar with the techniques used in the manufacture of imported and modern jewellery, and the creation of antique pieces. Fine Arts valuers are specialists in their field and draw on years of experience and knowledge of their specialty. For all our valuers their ongoing training means they are kept up-to-date with market trends which can affect price. Regular market research is undertaken by the NCJV, which is a vital source of information for members on the latest materials and resources. Through the NCJV, members also have access to a network of other experts for technical advice, resources and information on industry issues. Registered NCJV valuers in Australia may operate their own retail outlets, work in a retail outlets, or act on a consultancy basis for jewellery stores covering 2000 jewellery stores around the country.
