Overlanding West Africa is an independent overland company focusing entirely on West Africa. Our exploratory routes through the region visit countries and places that no other overland operators venture to, including Senegal, The Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Western Sahara, and Morocco. Instead of just passing through the region as part of a bigger Trans-Africa, or only visiting a few tried and tested countries, we take our time and get well off the beaten track, really out there. We love to bring together a group of like-minded people who share a genuine love of adventure and exploratory overland trips. We’ll be getting to some areas that are rarely, if at all, visited by travellers, so a fair bit of flexibility will be built in to the trips to allow for the unforeseen challenges and opportunities that crop up on the road. Our planned routes and itineraries are unique; we don’t know of any other operator offering anything like these trips. We operate 3 overland trips per year in a southbound direction: 1. Dakar to Freetown (Senegal, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea, and Sierra Leone) 2. Freetown to Accra (Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, Ivory Coast, and Ghana) 3. Accra to Ouagadougou (Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Burkina Faso) We then run 3 trips in a northbound direction: 1. Accra to Freetown (Ghana, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone) 2. Freetown to Dakar (Sierra Leone, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Senegal, and Gambia) 3. Dakar to Marrakech (Senegal, Mauritania, Western Sahara, and Morocco)
