Yeshiva of Waterbury
www.waterburyyeshiva.orgThe Waterbury Yeshiva was founded in September 2000 in an effort to revitalize the Historic Overlook and Hillside neighborhoods of Waterbury. The school opened with an initial student-body of 30 post-high school students. In 2005, the school expanded, opening the Waterbury Yeshiva High School. With its vanguard educational approaches of ; inclusion; helping students tap into and discover their unique potential (previously not sensed by themselves or those around them); and ingraining self-confidence in every single student, the high school has succeeded in taking students who were not successful in other school environments and turning them into tomorrow’s leaders. With the high school’s continuous growth, came the need for a larger campus; thus, in 2016, the school purchased a campus in Durham, CT, moving the high school there. After successfully completing their high school years, the Durham campus students transition to the Waterbury Yeshiva Graduate School campus. Owing to the success of the school’s programming, enrollment has grown steadily and robustly. Today, 18 years after its founding, the Waterbury Yeshiva boasts 1500 Alumni. What stands out is the impressive fact that a significant number of alumni continue to move back to the community after marrying, starting up new local businesses and employing local people from surrounding towns, thus boosting the greater Waterbury economy.
