Elder Line (14567): a National Helpline for Senior Citizens (NHSC) has been set up by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJ&E) with National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) as monitoring body in collaboration State & UT Governments. Elder Line is a toll-free number operating for 12 hours a day (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM) that provides free Information, Guidance, Emotional Support and Field Intervention in cases of abuse & rescues in order to improve the quality of life of senior citizens.
