Shorty's Liquor: A Short Family Story. It was 2001 when Dave and his cousin Marty wrote the first words of the Shorty’s story, setting up a tiny store at the back of the Australian Hotel in the Rocks. However it was four years after this that Shorty’s properly launched, taking over an Ultimo warehouse location and turning an eye to beverage supply for under-serviced corporate customers. The rest, as they say, is history. Shorty’s quickly became the key player in corporate beverage solutions, supplying to almost every major corporate business in Sydney’s CBD. From agencies to banks and catering companies, we work closely with our valued clients to help manage their event needs, including organising tastings, wine dinners and cellaring advice. As the business has grown, so too has our team: today more than twenty staff - from wine experts to customer service representatives, digital marketers and delivery drivers – operate from an ever-growing Ultimo warehouse space. In recent years a new chapter of the Shorty’s story has been penned, launching the online fine wine and premium spirits destination wine.com.au in 2016, helping true connoisseurs of the industry find super rare wines and remarkable gifts. In 2017 we also began to partner with Wattle & Jones to offer a more nuanced gifting solution for our corporate clients, stocking a range of curated gift packs, featuring fine Champagnes, artisanal Italian treats and other delights. In 2018 we launched a magazine called ‘The Drop’. This publishing effort, capturing some of the engaging tales of the drinks industry, is just another attempt to add value to the lives of our customers. While we are always focused on improving our DNA as a business stays the same: we’re a family company obsessed by providing exceptional service and product.
