To study, research and develop large-scale materiel projects, and to develop defence technology. To be the centre of excellence for the Ministry of Defence in defence technologies and knowledge, and assist the ministry on formulation of defence science and technology policies and plans. To coordinate defence science and technology cooperation with other public and private sectors, educational institutes, both domestically and internationally. To promote and support the defence science and technology training, research, and human resource development. To provide information on defence science and technology to the public, and to promote academic activities that provide continuous improvement in defence science and technology knowledge.
